Date: 31st May
Time: 10.15am – 3.30pm
About the workshop:
Our lino print workshop is the ideal opportunity for those wanting to learn how to create their own unique prints. Learn how to cut and prepare lino using the jigsaw method. This method is cut as one design which is then cut up to apply different colours to different areas. Using your own cut lino, you will be able to print your own design on a selection of papers and card blanks
Who is the workshop suitable for?
This workshop is suitable for complete beginners so rest assured you will be in safe hands and tutored throughout the process.
What's included in the workshop:
During the workshop you will be introduced to the materials, safe use of tools and simple techniques used to print your own lino prints on both paper and fabric. You will be advised how to turn your ideas, taken from reference photos and sketches, into a stunning design, which will be used to cut your own lino block(s). We will explore how to get a seamless repeat pattern which can be used to print various items. There is a strong emphasis on being creative, explorative, and having fun with the process before printing your own final design on card and fabric.
All the materials and tools are provided for this course. You will be able to take your blocks home with you to continue printing with.
Further tools and materials will be available to purchase at the course, should you get the bug to do more.
We also provide cake and refreshments to enjoy throughout the day, if you have an allergies we should be aware of, please let us know when booking your place.
