With Christmas around the corner why not treat yourself and get prepared early by joining our advent calendar or appliqued present sack workshop. During the workshop you will have the opportunity to make a personalised tab top advent calendar, with either individual lined pockets or bands of pockets. There will be pre-prepared numbers and a selection of applique shapes should you choose to accessorise your pockets. Fabric advent calendars are a great feature piece in any festive decor but are also a great alternative to chocolate based ones (as you can put tiny gifts or favoruite sweeties inside). They can also be used year after year.

Please note – Sewers of all abilities are welcome at our sewing classes – if you can sew a straight line, you will be able to complete this project. What's included in the course: During the workshop you will be introduced to the basics behind cutting accurately using a rotary cutter and prepared templates, how to sew and line up accurately alonsgide how to finish and complete a quality "bespoke and unique" calendar. We will explore how you can add festures to your advent by using decorative stitches and hand embroidery features. We will provide all the templates, tools and hanging baton for this course. We will also have a selection of components and pre-prepared features you may choose to include in your advent. You will however need to provide your own fabric(s) and you can of course add a personal choice of trims (if desired).
 
We also provide cake and refreshments to enjoy throughout the day, if you have an allergies we should be aware of, please let us know when booking your place.
 
What you will need to bring: You will need to provide your own sewing machine and basic sewing kit, alongside the fabric(s) and trims (if desired) for your advent calendar. Please bring your own lunch. You may choose to bring a pen and notebook if you wish to make notes throughout the day.
